Synology DSM Architect (SIT1)

The Synology DSM Architect course develops knowledge of basic DSM setup, network service management, and storage design. It focuses on advanced network interface configuration, port aggregation, SSD cache use, RAM requirements, and volume encryption.

Attention is also given to file security and sharing, including encrypted folders, encryption keys, WriteOnce, and tiered storage. All SIT program courses – DSM Architect, Backup Architect, Collaboration Architect, Surveillance Architect, and ActiveProtect Architect – conclude with an official Synology certification exam. Participants take the exam independently online at any time after completing the training and receive their results immediately upon completion. Those who pass receive an official certificate and access to the Synology logo. Both can be downloaded immediately after passing the exam from their account on the Ilias platform.

The certification exam typically consists of 20–30 questions (depending on the exam), usually lasts 60 minutes, and requires a minimum score of 65% to pass.

The Synology certification is valid in countries including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, France, Georgia, Italy, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. If you are from another country, please contact us and we will help you find a suitable solution.

    Certification Exam

You can take the certification exam online immediately after completing the course or at any later time. We recommend taking it within two months of completing the training. Our instructors will explain the exam procedure and requirements in detail. All training materials are available for reference during the exam.

After passing the exam, you can immediately download your official Synology certificate. You will also gain access to the Synology logo, which you can use to demonstrate your certification, for example in your email signature or on social media.

    Recertification

Please note that certificates generally have a limited validity period, meaning that you will need to complete recertification at regular intervals (e.g., every two years). To make this easier, we offer recertification workshops covering the most important updates. Further details about certification and the partner program are available directly from Synology.

  • Training Format

All courses are delivered online, allowing participants to attend remotely from anywhere.

Every participant receives remote access to online labs, where hands-on exercises take place. These dedicated lab environments provide the opportunity to practice configurations and work directly with the Synology solutions covered during the training.

Courses are designed for groups of 6–12 participants, ensuring sufficient time for hands-on practice, questions, and individual guidance from the instructor.

    Training Approach

    • Courses are led by experienced, certified Synology trainers who combine expert instruction with practical, real-world experience.
    • Training includes hands-on demonstrations and exercises, allowing participants to apply what they learn and gain practical experience in configuring and using Synology solutions.
    • We emphasize interactive discussions and knowledge sharing, encouraging questions and the exploration of real-world scenarios brought by participants.
  • SIT Program

The SIT (Synology Intensive Trainings) program offers official Synology training courses led by experienced, certified trainers. The program is designed to help participants make full use of Synology devices, applications, and services while gaining practical knowledge applicable to their deployment and management.

Our portfolio includes intensive two-day courses covering various areas of Synology technologies, with the opportunity to earn an official Synology certification.

Our complete training portfolio is available in English, with selected courses also offered in other languages. We continuously expand our training offering.

The courses focus on the design, deployment, and effective use of Synology solutions in real-world environments – from managing network-attached storage and data backup and recovery to team collaboration, video surveillance, and centralized protection of business infrastructure.

Depending on the course, you will learn how to select and configure suitable solutions, secure their operation, and use their features to meet your organization's needs. Hands-on exercises will help you develop practical skills applicable to everyday work and customer projects.
